Ruby Wednesday

Ruby Wednesday Gin.

A generational secret whispered over time.

Rumour has it that in 1923 Ruby May hosted her first secret gin martini club on a Wednesday. She was also known for passing a crisp gin & tonic over the picket fence for the neighbours to enjoy. Her sweet, delicate manner never gave way to her wilder side, as borne out by her lifestyle motto:

“I don’t have a problem with the problem I’ve got”.

Ruby’s 1920s gin cocktails were always her take on the classics - Tom Collins, White Lady, Bee’s Knees, and of course, her favourite, as she had to have ‘The Last Word’. Gin was her game, and the Negroni was her claim to fame, as she infused native organic aniseed myrtle for what has now become a truly unique, smooth experience.

Often she was caught rolling an oak barrel down to the back shed, never divulging what was in it, only saying with an enigmatic smile, Every day should be a Ruby Wednesday, so I’ll see you tomorrow for a drink?” Those barrels are now affectionately known as Harrison’s cut.

Fast track to 2019, and the 5th generation Ruby, born on a Wednesday, continues her story.
